LORO PARQUE helps fund research for endangered Amazon parrots

Abstract

Checks totalling $24,260 were presented by Wolfgang Kiessling (left), director and owner of Loro Parque, to Dr. Christoph Imboden of the International Council for Bird Preservation (Cambridge, England). Also pictured is Rosemary Low, who attended the First International Parrot Convention held in Lora Parque, Tenerife, Canary Islands, October 1986. Lora Parque has the most comprehensive collection of parrots in the world. Rosemary Low made an appeal on behalf of the imperial Amazon parrot, from Dominica in the West Indies.
