Abstract
The Orange County Bird Breeders,
based in Garden Grove, California,
recently raised over 51 ,500 for the
A FA . They did it by holding a special
raffle, the super prize being a young ,
captive- raised, handfed Afri can grey
parrot . The bird was obtained from
OCBB member/breeder Emma Allison.
Felice Bahner took charge of
caring for the bird and organizing a
team of over a doze.n club members
who vol unteered to se ll raffle tickets
each Saturday from the end of june to
September 18th, the drawing date.
OCBB, one of the large, active clubs
of southern California, has organized
one of these special raffles annual ly
for the last severa l years. They have
donated from 5600 to 5 1,600 each
year to AFA as the result of their
efforts. A hearty thanks goes to Felice
