der Vogelfanger: FOREST EDGE GARDEN

Abstract

Many people envision the tropical rainforest
as full of large leaved lush plants.
When looking at a typical rainforest, it is
surprising how few large leaved plants
there are. The northern counterpart of a
rainforest is the temperate hardwood
forest and the lushest and most diverse
part of it (as with a rainforest) is the
forest edge. Here, sunlight penetrates to
the ground. As a result, there are trees,
shrubs, annuals, and perennials, bulbs and
grasses.
